About Dr Ganguli’s Patient Program

This page is for Ontario patients who are interested in being referred to Dr Ganguli’s ‘Food as Prevention’ Program.

The program is to help patients to adopt a heathier Whole Food Plant-based (WFPB) diet.  It is a ‘referral only’ program (you need to be referred by your doctor who sends a consultation request to Dr Ganguli).

In order to decide if this is for you, please review my website (overview here).

An overview of the program is as follows:

During your initial consultation meeting with Dr Ganguli you will receive information and help in making changes to your diet.  Follow-up appointments will also be arranged to monitor your progress and assist you in making the transition to  a WFPB diet.

You will also need to attend 6 small group meetings which are held on Zoom on Sunday evenings and last about an hour.  During these meetings you will receive education, food demonstrations, recipes and support.  If you are not the main food preparer in your household it would be best if that person also comes to the Zoom meeting with you and hopefully also to your appointments, in order to learn about this diet and support you in the changes you are making.

Below is a checklist to help you decide if this program is for you:

[  ]  You are currently a patient being followed by a family doctor or specialist who is prescribing any medications you are on.

[  ]  You have reviewed this website (overview here) including this video by Dr Esselstyn

[  ]  Know how to use the internet, Zoom, and have a working email address.

[  ]  Understand the diet includes a 6 month trial of giving up meat, poultry, fish, milk, cheese, and eggs.

[  ]  Understand the intervention includes follow-up visits and participation in group meetings (on Zoom)

[  ]  If you live with a partner who prepares your food, they are willing to attend the Sunday night Zoom group meetings too.

If you have checked all of the above and would like to proceed, please have your doctor fax a consultation request to Dr Subhas Ganguli at 905-526-0540.

If you’re still not sure, see this 3 minute video by Eric Adams who was just elected as the mayor of New York city.
